This hail damaged roof in East Granby needed attention. The homeowner contacted us to help. After guiding them through the roof insurance replacement process, we got to work! There are several steps in a roof replacement and this job was no exception. First we started with stripping the old roof shingles down. Then came a thorough inspection of the wood, called sheathing or decking. This plywood is sometimes damaged and needs work before the new roof can go on. We added a higher quality ridge vent for better ventilation. From the lower edges and areas at risk of ice and water damage we applied Ice & Water shield. Beyond the Ice & Water shield, we installed a high-quality synthetic (non-absorbing) underlayment. After that came the fun part--Installing brand new, beautiful architectural shingles.
