For this roofing project in Granby, CT 06035 on Zimmer Rd, we stripped the existing garage, covered the walkway roof, and installed a new roof system in that area on this cape style home. There was visual evidence from the inside that the garage roof had failed. There were significant active water leak stains in one large area. Initially we thought the plywood would need to get replaced in that entire area. But once the failed roof had been stripped it was clear the plywood was still in good solid condition. There was no delimitation or rot. High quality roof deck plywood will sometimes get wet after a roof fails but may take a while to actually start deteriorating. On the other hand sometimes you strip a roof where the plywood is wet from the inside and it just falls apart as the roof is being removed. It's a mixed bag. Fortunately in this case the plywood was fine so it didn't need to be replaced which saved Nathan and Jessica some money. Once stripped we installed a high grade ice and water shield, synthetic underlayment, .019 premium 8" edge metal (drip edge), and starter shingles the prepare a protective base that was ready to receive the new shingles. We were able to get a close match in color with a high quality asphalt architectural shingle to match the main house shingles that had been done before Nathan and Jessica had bought the house. The project and thorough clean up was all done in one day. We really enjoyed working for this great couple!
My Fiance and I live in Granby, CT and had Rhino Back replace our garage and walkway roof recently. It went about as well as it could possibly go. While it was a struggle to get other roofers we contacted to even call us back, Mike and his crew contacted us within a 1/2 hour of our initial inquiry online and he personally came out to look at the job the next day. After we made a deposit and picked out a color the crew was out there in a week or so. We left for work and when we got back we had a new roof!! They left the area cleaner then it was before they got there. And now we have a roof thats good for the next 50 yrs and a no questions asked warranty that transfers to the next owner. We probably could have found someone cheaper and saved a couple hundred bucks, but for what we got and how easy it was, the money was totally worth it. Mike even sent us brownies and a christmas card for crying out loud!!!
